Valedictory of Basic Course in Medical  Education at GIMS, Greater Noida on 21st Feb, 2025

The Medical Education Unit of Government Institute of Medical Sciences, Greater Noida is conducting National Medical Commission’s approved Basic Course in Medical  Education (BCME).  It was a 3-day workshop that has been introduced by the National Medical Commission (NMC) to enhance the teaching skills of medical faculty across India. This course aimed to improve the quality of medical education by focusing on modern teaching methodologies, curriculum planning, assessment techniques, and student engagement strategies. It is designed for medical educators, particularly new faculty members, to help them transition from traditional teaching methods to Competency-based Medical Education (CBME). The BCME included interactive workshops, case-based discussions, and hands-on training sessions. Conducted by the Medical Education Units (MEUs) of accredited medical colleges, this program ensures standardized teaching quality nationwide.

The BCME at GIMS was conducted from 19th -21st Feb. 2025.  

29 participants from GIMS and 01 from SMS attended the workshop. 

The valedictory session, held on the final day of the workshop, was graced by the Dr. Brig. Rakesh Kr. Gupta, Director, GIMS who addressed the participants and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in improving the quality of medical education in India. He congratulated the participants for their active involvement in the workshop and encouraged them to apply the newly acquired skills in their teaching practices to contribute to the growth of medical education nationwide.

The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Bharti Bhandari Rathore, with support from the resource faculty, which included Dr. Rambha Pathak, Dr. Ranjana Verma, Dr. Manisha Singh, Dr. Nazia Nazir, Dr. Ritu Sharma, Dr. Anju Rani, and Dr. Prerna Agarwal, all members of the Medical Education Unit at GIMS.
